Acceptance of Terms
The following terms and conditions govern your access and use of the ZotGPT (herein referred to as "Chatbot") which is managed by AWS Bedrock and/or Microsoft Azure on behalf of the Regents of the University of California ("UC"). AWS Bedrock and Microsoft Azure both act as processors and do not claim ownership of user content. ZotGPT is an AI assistant that generates text-based responses. It is not a human, does not represent official University positions, and may produce inaccurate or outdated information. By using the Chatbot, you agree to these terms and conditions.

Minimum Age Requirement
The Chatbot is not directed to, or intended for, children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use the Chatbot. If you are under 18 you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Chatbot.

Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Chatbot for any manner that violates UC policy, data security levels not explicitly defined on the UCI secure AI use page: https://www.security.uci.edu/how-to/ai-chatbot/ , any applicable laws. You may not use the Chatbot in a manner that is illegal, infringes, misappropriates, or otherwise violates the rights of others. UC Irvine may block or restrict use deemed abusive, harmful, or in violation of these terms.

Content Accuracy
Chatbot produces content generated by artificial intelligence ("AI") which may at times be incomplete or inaccurate. As such, you should carefully review and evaluate the content generated by the Chatbot. You are encouraged to verify any information provided by the Chatbot.

Warranty Disclaimer
The content in this application is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of condition, uninterrupted use, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitations of Liability
Reliance on the information provided by this platform is solely at your own risk. The University of California, Irvine, its suppliers, and other third parties involved in the development of the content shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or other damages arising out of or relating in any way to the application, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory and whether or not advised of the possibility of such damages. The user assumes all responsibility associated with using the content and for acts or omissions arising out of the use or misuse of the content. To the extent any term herein is not permitted under applicable law, that term shall be severed and stricken, and all remaining terms shall be enforced to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Privacy and Data Collection
Your conversations and interactions with Chatbot are monitored or recorded, and transcripts of the chatbot conversations are available to the administrator of each chatbot. Data will be retained pursuant to the University of California data retention policy. Content submitted to or generated by the Chatbot may be monitored or reviewed for security, abuse prevention, or system improvement. You can end the chat at any time by closing the open window of the chat dialog.
You should refrain from sharing with the Chatbot sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, financial information, or personal health information.

Modifications to Terms of Use
UC Irvine reserves the right to modify the Terms of Use at any time. The updated terms and conditions will be effective upon publication. Your continued use of the Chatbot will be your assent to be governed by the new Terms of Use.
